THE TOP MANICURE-READY COLOURS FOR FALL
Story by Amanda Elizabeth Smith
Celebrate the change in seasons with a switch-up in your polish predilections. Here, we share our favourite fall shades for nails.
Dark Brown
Time to remove the bright pink and neon yellow nail colours of summer and embrace the deeper shades of fall. Nicole by OPI’s ‘Girl Talk’ is a gorgeous milk chocolately colour, a perfect complement to the season’s luxe looks.
Bright Reds
We’re always trying to find the perfect shade of red, from lipstick to red-soled shoes, and one of the big colours for this season fuels our fetish. Nail polish maestros OPI have the solution to our search with ‘MonSooner or Later’, a classic, manicure-worthy orangey–red lacquer.
Emerald Green Nails
The temperature is dropping – time to get those military jackets out to keep us warm, and what better accessory to pair them with then a dark green manicure using OPI’s ‘Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow’.
Water-worthy Shades
We love the metallic beauty trend, especially on our nails! Underwater colours like blues and greens are definitely in for fall (and will continue to be, according to LABEL and their sea-inspired S/S 2012 collection). Butter London’s ‘Bluey’ is a bright, bold hue from their new fall collection, and is sure to stay the course once the season changes, too.
Neutral Nails
Making a shift from autumnal and metallic lacquers, another big trend this season is a pale, barely-there manicure. Seen on the runways at Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent, keep your beauty routine light with a swift swipe of a lighter neutral shade. Try nail polish queen Deborah Lippmann’s high-gloss lacquer in ‘Naked’ to highlight a fierce set of well-kept tips.
