THE LOOKS WE LOVED FROM TORONTO FASHION WEEK

Want a head start on trends to try come spring? Here’s a guide to the top looks from TFW…
1) Slick Your Hair
The wet-look was all over the runway for S/S 2012, complimenting the retro-glamour looks at Arthur Mendonça and the sleek styling of Krane. For maximum impact, add some sparkle like they did at JUMA to really turn those heads.
2) Embrace Colour
Designers went beyond basic blacks and neutrals for the new season. From subtle to saturated in every colour of the rainbow, there are plenty of options to explore.
3) Top With A Vest
From utilitarian to tough, vests were the cover-up of choice at Klaxon Howl and Sid Neigum. We know how much Torontonians love to cast off the shackles of winter as soon as they can, and this is a great way to prep for warm weather without breaking out the shorts too early.
4) Love That Length
At LABEL, a see-through skirt stole the show; at Greta Constantine, their signature jersey gowns touched down (way down); and at Chloé Comme Parris, maxi was major.
5) Eye Spy
We saw lots of attention paid to peepers – from the angry-Animé style brows at Sid Neigum (made by the designer himself out of water buffalo) to washes of colour at JUMA and Arthur Mendonça. And eyewear – oh the eyewear! Aeroplane Vintage’s frames were the perfect accent to LABEL’s laid-back looks.
