THE PERFECT PAIR IS EASY TO ACHIEVE WITH THIS SEASON’S HOTTEST NEW PRODUCTS
Story by Rebecca Perrin
With a variety of trend colours to choose from, fall is a great time to give your fingertips some love. When asked for her personal favourites for the season, publicist and fashion “it-girl” @OscarPRGirl tweeted that she’s loving a “matte rosy beige and also a true red with a hint of neon”. In fact, she’s right on trend with loving a soft grey/beige, or “greige” colour, and a rich, jewel-toned hue. The only thing she’s missing is this season’s most obvious favourite: purple. Chanel recently released their new “must have” polish called ‘Paradoxal (Le Vernis #509)’. It’s a rich, deep purple with a ribbon of gold and a multi-hued finish. Canadian nail polish company Zoya has a similar polish called ‘Savita’, a “bold, vibrant medium purple with strong red and gold shimmer with a velvet matte finish”. Colours these enticing make matching your fingers to your toes seem like a waste of canvas space. Our other favourites include hues like ‘Storm’, a purple-grey from Joe Fresh, ‘Palm Springs’, a neon peach from American Apparel, and ‘Harlow’, a matte plum-pink from Zoya.
Equally important to the colour you’re wearing is the state of your cuticles and nail beds. Keep your nails healthy with plenty of iron and a monthly manicure: nails should be filed short and kept free from hang-nails, overgrown cuticles and uneven tips. If you don’t have time to visit a manicurist, doing your own nails at home is easier than ever with do-it-yourself kits like the ‘Mani-Cured’ set from Cake Beauty. To keep your hands looking lovely, this kit includes five hand and cuticle buffing treatments, a nail buffer, a nail-file keychain, and a full-size bottle of Cake’s ‘Milk-Made Velveteen Hand Crème’. Completely portable and more time-affordable, kits like ‘Mani-Cured’ make your at-home manicure as rewarding as the real thing.
